spare some change

Charity is a piece by Damien hurst and looks at the traditional way of asking for donations for charity and when I model would stand out side of a shop or shopping centre and have a slot in it to accept small change for a particular charity. This sculpture was huge and was of a young girl holding a teddy bear. The sheer size of the sculpture helps it to command the space and stand out of the natural landscape. For a Damien Hurst piece the colour pallet was pastel compared to his normal brightly coloured hue and this meant that the piece looked to be by another artist and I had to take a look at the guide when looking at this piece. I like the nostalgia feel to this piece as the imagery that the piece produces is of my childhood.
