damien hurst: top hats

This sculpture called Top Hats really had me scratching my head with this one. The piece shows top hats mounted on planks of wood. However when reading the description that went with the artwork I found out that it was made from concrete. This piece amazed me with the level of detail to fool the viewer into believing it was made out of wood. I liked how the hats were put onto the top of the stands and felt like they had been carefully placed there.
