yorkshire budda

Niki de Saint Phalle: Buddha 2000, I remember seeing this piece the last time that I visited The Yorkshire Sculpture Park and I really liked the different colours used in the mosaic, initially you see the colour choices and feel that it is chosen at random but there feels to me like thought played a big part in the placement of each piece to contour to the shape of the sculpture. The artist has gave the figure one large eye to creature a subject of fantasy and imagination, this also helps the sculpture to stand out in the landscape.
